Exploring our identity through Art

Art has long served as a mirror to the human soul, and one of its most profound themes is the exploration of identity. The image below, which depicts a Rubik’s Cube as a human head being manipulated by multiple hands, is a striking metaphor for the complexity and fragmentation of identity in modern life.
Each colored square on the cube represents different aspects of the self—emotions, beliefs, memories, culture, and external influences. The presence of multiple hands rearranging the pieces reflects how identity is not solely self-created but often shaped by others: family, society, media, and peers. The face formed within the puzzle implies a struggle for coherence—how we try to form a stable sense of self from many shifting parts.
